Cyprus Trial schools Activities - Climate Change

20 students from the Youth Ambassadors Groups of Lanitio Lyceum & St. Peter and Paul's Lyceum, in Cyprus, worked on the Climate Change issue, and presented their work during the 5th Pancyprium Science Conference (26-28 February 2016), on the subject “Our planet’s climate is changing. What is causing this change? Is there something we can do to stop it?”.

Cyprus Trial schools Activities - National Tree Week

The students of the Panos Ioannou Gymnasium, Cyprus, are using the SFYouth material on the Climate Change during their curriculum activities, as well as during their Youth Ambassadors Group meetings. Based on what they have learnt and aiming at using their knowledge and engaging the rest of the school, they organized a nature care event on the 12th of February, 2016, with activities such as tree-planting and cultivating a herb garden.

SFYouth Cyprus Trial Schools - International Women’s Day

On the 8th of March, 2016, the Youth Ambassadors Groups of the Cyprus SFYouth trial schools organized several activities on the International Women’s Day. YAG students also used the Youth Wall of the SFYouth project to express their ideas and share their activities with the rest of the SFYouth trial schools.

The SFYouth Resources Trial is Underway!

The Schools for Future Project Team have been busy running sessions in Cyprus, Italy, Poland and the UK, inducting 34 new schools to the teachers and youth toolkits available on www.sfyouth.eu. From February 2016, all schools will start using the toolkits during their lessons and will set up a Youth Ambassadors Group, which will work on specific Global Issues, understanding their role as global citizens, organizing activities and raising awareness locally about those issues they feel passionately about.

The Long Road to Poland; A Meeting of European Partners, Teachers and Students!

On a cold November morning in Katowice, Poland, Partners of the Schools for Future Youth Project Team, teachers and students from Italy, Poland, Cyprus and the UK came together to begin a week long programme of activity. The aim of the week was to physically connect teachers and young people who had already been involved in the Project and for them to learn more about how the SFYouth online materials and mobile phone app will work. This trip marked the beginning of the second phase of the Project, which will bring in an additional 40 schools across Europe to trial the exact resources we were getting feedback from in Poland.
