SFYouth focus groups in Cyprus

The aim of SFYouth project is to increase the educational engagement and the active civil participation using YPGC (Youth Participation through Global Citizenship) in formal and informal education. In order to achieve that, partners have to identify the current educational situation in each partner country and develop a needs analysis report. These reports will help partners in responding to the educational needs of the teachers and young people in each country for the successful implementation of the project.

Cyprus Youth Ambassadors Group Activity

 The Youth Ambassador Group (YAG) in Cyprus was set up in a Gymnasium in Nicosia, in April 2015, and it has been working in the context of the SFYouth project since then. The YAG is consisted of 25 students, who are working on extracurricular time, with the support of their school teacher. Their activities are based on the resources developed in the context of the SFYouth project, and they were mainly focused on the topics of Climate Change and Food.

SFYouth project launch

The SFYouth project (Schools for Future Youth - methods and support for improved youth participation in European school education) was officially launched during a three-day kick-off meeting in London, on November 17-19, 2014. The meeting was organized by the project leader, Oxfam GB, and it was aiming at discussing about the objectives of the project and the next steps. More specifically, partners discussed about some immediate actions that they had to take, such as the identification of the hub schools in each partner country and the development of the National Reports. Also, partners identified and analyzed some potential project risks that they might face during the lifecycle of the project.
